Shoshanna Katzman, L.Ac., M.A., Director and founder of the Red Bank Acupuncture and Wellness Center in Tinton Falls, New Jersey, leads a staff of highly trained practitioners who offer acupuncture and therapeutic massage. As a certified acupuncturist, herbalist, and T’ai Chi and Qigong professional, Shoshanna has been involved in the field of alternative medicine for almost thirty years.
Her second book Qigong for Staying Young: A Simple 20-Minute Workout to Cultivate Your Vital Energy is being released by Avery/Penguin Group USA. Shoshanna is dedicated to bridging the gap between alternative and allopathic medicine.
Shoshanna has a Bachelors degree in Sociology from Hofstra University. She first worked as a social worker and recreation director in nursing homes, then studied massage at the San Francisco Massage Institute. She also learned T’ai Chi Chuan, Qigong, and Kung Fu. In 1981, she earned her Master’s in Sports Medicine from San Francisco State University and began her formal studies of Oriental medicine with authors and Doctors of Oriental Medicine, Michael Tierra and Miriam Lee, going on to open practices in California, Pennsylvania, and now New Jersey.
Shoshanna is a nationally certified acupuncturist with a Master’s in Science in the field. She is secretary of the New Jersey State Acupuncture Examining Board, appointed by former Governor Christine Todd Whitman in 1998. Through her membership in and involvement with professional organizations including the American Association of Oriental Medicine and the Federal Acupuncture Oriental Medicine Regulatory Agency, she keeps abreast of regulatory changes in the field.

Shoshanna Is Ambassador and Vice-President of the National Qigong Association where she is working hard to bring qigong across America. Shoshanna is an author of an on-line continuing education course on Holistic Medicine for physicians and allied health professionals. She is currently a master level student of energy body therapy with Christine Schenk. An adjunct professor in the Health and Fitness Department at Brookdale College, she is also a speaker, organizer, and co-founder of this women’s wellness conference.
Shoshanna is an inspirational and motivational speaker. As Co-author of Feeling Light—The Holistic Solution to Permanent Weight Loss and Wellness (Avon Books, 1997). Her suggestions for weight loss have been highlighted in Alternative Cures, The Most Effective Natural Home Remedies for 160 Health Problems, by Bill Gottlieb (Rodale, 2000). She has been featured in numerous magazines and newspapers, most notably in The Los Angeles Times, The San Francisco Examiner, The Chicago Tribune, The New York Post, New Woman, First for Women and Mind, Body, Spirit magazines. She has appeared on radio and local, regional, and national television, including programs on the Food Channel and America’s Health Network, and on Lee Leonard’s New Jersey’s Talking, Everyday Living, Good Day New York and Extra.
