Lynne Gassel
began performing before the age of ten and by seventeen, while attaining her B.F.A. at Temple University’s Tyler School of Art, was vocalist for Associated Orchestras of Philadelphia.
Her music and art careers took a back seat when she became a wife and mother, but still performed occasionally. She played Mary Magdalene in “Jesus Christ Superstar”, Sister Sarah in “Guys and Dolls” and Hodel in “Fiddler on the Roof”. She wrote, directed and performed in several local productions, while she and her husband raised their four children in Los Angeles, California.
For thirty years, she put her family ahead of her passion for music. But, now, her children are grown and out of the house. It is her turn. At 52, she decided that “daring” was good and music would make her life whole, no matter what the outcome. In addition to her full-time job as Activities Director in retirement communities, she studied “Musical Theatre Technique” with Carol Weiss, “Scene Studies” with Kathryn Morath, “Breakthrough Coaching” with Lauri Johnson and “Vocal Coaching” with Annette Warren.
She has performed in several arenas; including a Concert Series with Bob Ralston and her own sold out “Evening of Cabaret”, accompanied by the renowned jazz pianist, Paul Smith. She is presently expanding her cabaret performance and looks forward to sharing her gift of inspired songs with you. Dare to dream. It’s never too late.
